This place is amazing — an almost overwhelming selection of high-quality gear and clothing. If you work, hunt, or play hard, you’ll love it. The perfect antidote to malls and big-box shopping.

A real old-school army surplus store — boots, jackets, all-weather gear, military accessories, all in one place at fair prices. There aren’t many of these left.

Chris S. · Yelp

Crazy good pricing on quality goods, especially the knife and axe selection. Plenty of clothing, hats, and steel-toed boots too. Hunting through the place is genuinely fun.

The staff really know their stuff. The inventory is huge — they have everything you can think of. Prices are reasonable, similar to or a little less than REI.

Huge inventory of outdoor gear, army surplus, and clothing. The store looks small from outside but it’s seemingly endless inside. The people were super friendly and helpful — some items cheaper than Amazon.

As an Army vet, this place is my favorite. A little bit of everything, always a great boot selection at fair prices, and a 10% discount for veterans. Whatever you need, you’ll find it here.

Where we go for camping and emergency supplies. Great selection, fair prices — even on North Face and big-ticket items, the prices match the big-box stores. The staff are knowledgeable and easy to talk to.

The maze of aisles is half the fun — the salesperson took me right to what I was looking for. It’s the kind of treasure-trove store you don’t find in chain retail.

Great prices, quality merchandise, and a very entertaining store to walk through. Definitely the one I think of when I hear “army surplus.”

Bought a leather jacket I’d been searching for over two years. Same price I paid for a lesser one 30 years ago. Highly recommend — and don’t miss the discount A&N store one door down.

Our story · Since 1947

Started by a Marine. Run the same way ever since.

In 1947, Al Finer came back to Denver from the Pacific with $500 and an idea: sell honest gear at fair prices. He opened the doors. We never closed.

Three-quarters of a century later, the racks are full of more than just surplus — but the rule hasn’t changed. Useful goods. Fair prices. The thrill of the find.

What people ask

Questions before you come in.

The same questions come up most days. If yours isn’t here, just call — both stores answer the phone during business hours.

Can I shop online, or is this in-store only?

+
We’re set up for in-store shopping. If you can’t make it in, give us a call — we can usually take orders by phone and ship most items. Twelve bucks flat to most addresses, more for oversized stuff.

Can you hold something for me?

+
Yes. Call either store and we’ll set it aside for 24 hours. If you need longer, just ask — we’re flexible. Both phone numbers here.

Is parking easy?

+
Yes at both stores. Englewood (Broadway) has a lot out front and street parking. Pecos has a dedicated lot. No paid meters, no tickets, no drama.

Do I have to be a veteran or in the service to shop the surplus?

+
Not at all. Anyone can walk in. The surplus rack is open to everybody — campers, hunters, costume designers, vintage shoppers, people who just like a heavy wool blanket.

Will you match a price I found online?

+
If it’s the same item, same condition, in stock at the competitor, and you bring proof — yes. Same store, same day, no fine print. Full price match terms here.

Can you special-order something you don’t have on the floor?

+
Often, yes — especially for our top brands like Carhartt, Dickies, Levi’s, and Columbia. Sizes, colors, styles we don’t stock can usually be ordered in. Call and we’ll check.

What’s the return policy?

+
Bring the item back with the receipt and we’ll refund it. Surplus and as-is items are final sale — we’ll always tell you upfront. No restocking fees, no runaround.

Do you have ____ ?

+
Probably. With 100,000+ items on the floor and 1,000+ brands, we carry more than we can list. The fastest answer is a phone call. 303-789-1827 (Englewood) or 303-426-0488 (Pecos).
